St. Johns County Medical Alliance Awards Academic Scholarships to Local Students

The St. Johns County Medical Alliance recently awarded academic scholarships to three graduating St. Johns County high school seniors pursuing an education in medicine.

Three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to the following students:

• Bethany Triplett from Bartram Trail High School, will study pre-medicine at the University of Florida
• Randi Taylor from St. Augustine High School, will study pre-medicine at University of Central Florida
• Laura Albert from Nease High School, will study pre-medicine at Vanderbilt University

Each year, the St. Johns County Medical Alliance, in conjunction with the St. Johns County Medical Society, offers academic scholarships to graduating St. Johns County seniors pursuing an education in medicine, nursing, or allied health, said Ainsley Warmuth, Medical Alliance spokesperson. Scholarship applicants are evaluated on academic ability, school involvement, and community service.

The St. Johns County Medical Alliance represents spouses of St. Johns County physicians. Its purpose is to promote health education, identify and address health-care needs and issues, participate in health-related legislation and provide college scholarships to St. Johns County students.
